Q:

What kind of paper are the postcards printed on?

A:

Our postcards are printed on thick, high quality 300 gsm cover card stock. After printing, the postcard is coated on both sides, giving it a professional appearance and preventing it from getting damaged. You are free to select from a wide variety of available stocks for your custom designed postcards depending upon your own personal preferences and budget.


Q:

At what resolution should I save my photos and graphics?

A:

Resolution should be set to at least 300 dpi (dot per inch). Please note that pictures and graphics pulled from the internet are often low resolution, typically 72 dpi or 96 dpi. Avoid these graphics, as they will appear pixelated and blocky when printed.

In addition, all photos and images should be saved in CMYK mode (as opposed to RGB mode) when possible. Images saved in RGB mode will likely not print properly. If you are unable to save your image in CMYK mode, please let us know.


Q:

What are the standard sizes for postcards?

A:

The most common sizes of postcards are:

  • 4”x6” Postcards
  • 5”x8” Postcards
  • 5”x7” Postcards
  • 6”x9” Postcards

However, we can do non-standard sizes as-well. Please indicate your specific size requirements when communicating with your sales representative.


Q:

Is my artwork checked for errors and technical issues such as image resolution?

A:

Yes, we perform a free artwork check before an order is sent for printing. If we find any issues, we will either fix them or contact you if further action is needed. Please do note that this is only a technical check. Any spelling, grammatical, or positioning issues are not checked during this process.


Q:

Is there a setup fee for personalized postcards?

A:

No. There are no setup fees, no plate fees and no minimum order quantities. You will be quoted one simple price. Again, higher quantity orders do result in lower per unit prices due to efficiencies gained in printing larger quantities in a single run.


Q:

What types of files give the best printing results?

A:

All we need is a vector based editable file in a supported format such as EPS, AI, PSD, CRD or PDF. A vector-based file will help in making any adjustments necessary to get a clear and crisp result. You always can seek help from your sales representative if facing any difficulty in the file generating process.
